Kenya National Parks

Tsavo East

is one of Kenya’s largest and oldest national parks, spanning over 13,000 square kilometers. Located in the southeastern part of Kenya, it forms part of the greater Tsavo ecosystem along with Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo East is known for its vast open plains, striking landscapes, and rich wildlife diversity, making it a must-visit for nature and wildlife enthusiasts.

Maasai Mara

The Maasai Mara is one of the most renowned and iconic wildlife reserves in Africa, located in southwestern Kenya along the border with Tanzania. It is the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, known for its vast open plains, rolling hills, and abundant wildlife. The reserve covers approximately 1,500 square kilometers and is named after the indigenous Maasai people who inhabit the area, and the Mara River, which traverses it.

Tsavo West

Is a breathtaking wilderness located in southeastern Kenya, covering an area of about 9,000 square kilometers. Along with its counterpart, Tsavo East, it forms one of the largest national parks in Kenya. Tsavo West is known for its dramatic landscapes, volcanic hills, and diverse wildlife, offering a more varied terrain compared to the flatter plains of Tsavo East. This park is a haven for adventurers and nature lovers looking for a mix of scenery, wildlife, and unique geological features.

Tanzania National Parks

Serengeti National Park

One of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world, the Serengeti is renowned for its annual Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing. The park spans 14,750 square kilometers and offers spectacular opportunities for seeing predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

Kilimanjaro National Park

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Uganda National Parks

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bwindi is one of Uganda’s most famous parks, known for its dense rainforests and being home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking is the main attraction, drawing visitors from around the globe for a rare chance to observe these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

As Uganda’s most visited national park, Queen Elizabeth offers a variety of ecosystems, from savannas to wetlands and lakes. The Kazinga Channel, which links Lake Edward and Lake George, is a prime spot for boat safaris and birdwatching.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
